ARC REVIEW - MAN HANDS by Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby

12:08

Hi there! Hope everyone's fine.

Christmas is around the corner, and if you still looking for a new read to spend the holidays with, you should take a look in this book: Mand Hands by Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby.

He puts the "screw" in screwball comedy...

BRYNN

At thirty-four, I’m reeling from a divorce. I don’t want to party or try to move on. I just want to stay home and post a new recipe on my blog: Brynn’s Dips and Balls.

But my friends aren’t having it. Get out there again, they say. It will be fun, they say. I’m still taking a hard pass.

Free designer cocktails, they say. And that’s a game-changer.

Too bad my ex shows up with his new arm candy. That’s when I lose my mind. But when my besties dare me to leap on the first single man I see, they don't expect me to actually go through with it.

TOM

All I need right now is some peace and quiet while my home renovation TV show is on hiatus. But when a curvy woman in a red wrap dress charges me like she’s a gymnast about to mount my high bar, all I can do is brace myself and catch her. What follows is the hottest experience of my adult life.

I want a repeat, but my flying Cinderella disappears immediately afterward. She doesn’t leave a glass slipper, either—just a pair of panties with chocolate bunnies printed on them.

But I will find her.

My review:

I had a wonderful time with this book, and can wait for you to read it! I'm used to Sarina Bowen novels, and her occasional collaborations with other authors, but I must to say this one surprised me a lot. Maybe it was because of the way the writers narrated the story (first person narration, with lots of snark remarks and inner dialogues) or the funny chemistry that jumped from the pages. Maybe it was both, an more even things. The fresh language and the funny vibe of this book makes it something unique. The way the characters were developed was refreshing, and the dynamic between Brynn and her friends cracked me up.

Brynn is a newly divorced woman trying to get over her ex and go on with her life, so one day her friends suggested her to find a rebound fuck. Someone who wasn't her type to get laid with, without getting her emotions involved. She wasn't totally on board with that idea, but something made her change her mind. Then she jumped in the arms of the first stranger she put her eyes in. And they set the world on fire.

Tom was a famous man, known for one of those tv shows about refurbishing homes. He was throwing a party in his house and suddenly was assaulted for a sexy woman who was all curves and damn if he wasn't enjoying the attention. He let himself go with her, but after their bussiness she desapeared Cinderella style, leaving just a piece of lingerie as a trail.

The chemistry between Tom and Brynn is insanely hot, but their interactions are also hilarious. They made me laugh a lot! I loved that about this book. Also, both had their emotional baggages to work with. They weren't the typical tortured souls who don't believe in love. They were hurted, and they were living their mourning process. Meanwhile, they were having hot sex with a stranger.

Little by little that stranger wasn't no longer strange at all. But trust wasn't something easy to give away. And the story is about that: Learn to trust again, to love again. A refreshing, funny and sweet learning, I must said.

It was a short read, and it's perfect for a weekend or this holidays. After all, christmas is about love and magic, and this book has a lot of those things.

The next collaboration between Sarina and Tanya will be Man Card, and you can already preorder your copy of this book in your favorite retailers.
