My review:
The Wright One is
the newest novel in the Wright series, and the last part of The Wright Love
duet. While the previous book finished in a (wicked) cliffhanger, this one picks
up right where things were left; taking us back to Lubbock to face the drama
after David’s secret was revealed.
The beginning of the book is focused in the aftermath. How Sutton was
dealing with the betrayal, what was David thinking and feeling, what his
motives were…, and all those things got me wondering if their relationship
could be salvaged after all.
Faithful to her style the author delivers an angsty and sexy story.
With an utterly emotive and intense writing, K.A. Linde shows us the healing power
of love. The emotional parts got me weeping, but in some moments I found myself
smiling with hope.
The characters are in a constant battle with their feelings, and the plot
is a fascinating mix of frustration, attraction, friendship, familial drama and
unconditional love, among other things. There are a lot of things happening in
this book. Sutton has to face, for real this time, her feelings and what she
wants for her future; David has to find out if his place is with Sutton or apart
from her. And while they are getting things straight, we get to enjoy a little
more about the secondary characters while dreaming about them getting their own
stories (I’m talking about Penn, in case you were wondering).
Despite the dual POV in this duet, it’s in this book where we get to
know better to David. He’s a character that I loved learning more about. All
the things he had to live turned him into the perfect match for Sutton, even if
she had a hard time realizing that.
I loved this book. I loved Sutton and David’s story and how things ended
for them. And I also loved to get to see (or read) about… <spoiler>Jensen’s
wedding </spoiler>, lol.
I think this is it for the Wright family, at
least for a while, and while it’s a little bittersweet to say goodbye to the
characters we've come to love over these last six novels, I’m excited about the
author’s new projects. Can’t wait to read her again!
