This book was a big surprise. I’ve read Max
Monroe before, and I’m a fan of their rom coms, but The Girl in the Painting is
nothing like those previous works. Yes, it was addictive and beautiful, but it
was also emotional. This book was a soulful story about fate and second chances
in love and life.
I couldn’t stop turning page after page,
totally engaged in Ansel story and his weird connection to his unknown muse.
Until this muse wasn’t a stranger anymore. Until their connection become the
hottest, wildest, sexiest thing ever.
I really loved this book. I had a few rough
days in my country and this story kept my mind amused and enamored while the
world seemed to crumble outside. Ansel’s passion for art was the perfect
background for this romantic journey, and I appreciated how the authors were
revealing the layers of the characters, piece by piece, until they were bared
before our eyes.
Being surprised by an author (in this case,
authors) you know is great. And Max Monroe probed with this book how versatile
they can be.
