Corinne did it again!
I read Say I'm your twice before writing this entry. The first time I was so amazed by the story that I was speechless. The second time, I still amazed and definitely in love with the story: a story of a love so fierce, and so raw, that you feel as it was your own story.
Grace was resolved to finish with the things that were hurting her, no matter if that THING was the man she loved: Trent Hennington. And for her to have thar kind of resolution wasn't easy. Grace is a strong character, smart and beautiful inside and out. She loves fiercely but she had a lesson to learn: to love herself first.
Cooper was her best friend brother. He was also her friend. And Trent's friend. When he asked her out, she started to wonder if it was right for her to accept. She was free, but she was in love with Trent, even if he didn't deserve her love. And Cooper was a nice guy, he didn't deserve a shell of a woman. He deserved to be loved and she wasn't in the right. Yet.
When Trent realised Grace was moving on with her life, he freaked out...
"Men say woman are confusing, but I have news for them —they're no freaking better."
Say I'm yours is one of those books that makes you laugh, cry and love with all you have. The kind of book that stays with you for a long time after closing its pages of turning off your eReader. The characters are so beautiful and were developed in a way you feel connected with them. Grace and Trent must walk a path that isn't easy. Doubts, fears and secrets were breaking them apart, testing them.
I understand Grace, because I've been in her place. Loving someone that isn't ready to love you back is heartbreaking. But in certain way I understand Trent as well. He has some issues to deal with, some fears he has to face before fight his way back to Grace. The clock is running and timing is everything.
Will Trent reveal his feelings in the right time and win his girlfriend back? Or will it be too late? There's just one way to find out: reading Say I'm yours ;)
