BOOK-WORTHY SCENERY | A trip around the beautiful New Orleans

23:46

New Orleans is, according to Wikipedia, the most populous city in Louisiana with an estimated population of 393,292 (2017). This city is world-renowned because of its distinct music, Creole cuisine, unique dialect, and its annual celebrations and festivals (Mardi Gras, anyone?). But also because it’s the perfect scenery for a book. Don’t believe me? Let me show you.

Interview with the Vampire
by Anne Rice

This is the first installment in the world famous series THE VAMPIRE CHRONICLES, but also the beginning of a wonderful journey for Lestat, Louis and the rest of the vampires who are part of the saga. With vivid descriptions, and a melancholic view of this wonderful city, Rice tells a story that's close to my heart and surely will be close to yours if you give it a chance.

Fantasy Lover
by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Oh, Julian. I wish I had a slave like you...
This is the first installment in the Dark Hunters saga (now known as Hunter Legends), and it's a paranormal romance novel. Julian of Macedon, the lead character, is a ancient hero trapped in a book because of a curse, and he can be summon as a love-slave. But this time, when he's summoned, instead of a task he's given love. And everyone knows love is a powerful kind of magic itself. Greek gods, action, passion and a darkness growing around New Orleans will get you hooked in this series. It's been a while since I last read a book in this world, but this one is pretty cool.

Wrong Number, Right Guy
(The Bourbon Street Boys #1)
by Elle Casey

I've read a lot about this book, and it's already in my endless TBR. Everything starts with a mysterious text message, summoning May Wexler to a biker bar in downtown New Orleans, but  when she gets there, the sister she thinks has called her is nowhere to be found. Suddenly she's in a lot of trouble while wearing pink espadrilles and carrying a Chihuahua in her purse... in the middle of a shootout.

The Heavens Rise
by Christopher Rice

He's last name isn't a mistake, and neither is this book making it to the list. Christopher Rice is Anne's son and also a wonderful writer. His beginnings as an author were writing horror, and what's more perfect as scenery for a dark tale than the Louisiana bayou? The Heavens Rise is an intense and atmospheric supernatural thriller where three friends confront a deadly, ancient evil rising to the surface.

Beneath this Mask
by Meghan March

I read this book not so long ago and I fall in love with Meghan's writing. The story is intense, suspenseful, passionate and oh! so full of romance and eroticism! This is also the beginning of a wonderful series full of alpha males and bad-ass heroins.

I promise, you won't want to miss this:

But if you're more into anti heroes, take a look at Meghan's Mount Trilogy or the Savage Trilogy.
