I have to admit I have no expectations about this book, since it was a first time. A first time reading this author, her first time publishing… I think you get it. I was surprised by the amount of passion and feelings the author put in the book, and how her words gripped my heart like an iron fist. And I’m not talking about the Marvel character…

This story starts as a first love kind of book, new adult romance if you may, between one good girl and one boy from the bad side of town. Their attraction was something beautiful to see growing through the pages of this book. And then one night changed everything for them. They are left broken and apart… but then this story turns into a second chance romance, flash forwards included, when they meet again 8 years later. They are forced to work together, and it’s pretty clear that both, Torren and Ari, never let their love die.

Their journey from that young first love to their second chance was a bumpy ride, but the author made it worth it. This story was devastatingly good for a debut release. As I said, I had no expectations. But I had to admit that at one point I was in tears (many points of the book, in fact. And I’m not a crier). It was that good. Promise. Now I’m excited to your reaction to this story. A story that is different, heartfelt and beautifully written.

Devin Sawyer is a contemporary romance writer who enjoys a bit of dirty humor. If you have a dirty joke, she’s the first one that wants to hear it. She grew up in a small Texas town called Comfort and still enjoys quiet country towns. She started out writing at a young age with moody, depressing, poetry—mostly about unrequited teenage loves. But enough about the dark times.. Now Devin prefers to write witty romantic comedies with hard hitting issues. Devin has a master’s in Social work and is independently licensed as a therapist. She finds reading and writing a pleasant escape from real world stressors. Her favorite reads are forbidden love stories.
