Hi everyone. I'll start this post by listing the reasons for you must read this book.

1) You're a romance lover (If you're not, I don't know why your reading this review, btw.)

Goodbye Paradise, for me, is one of the most beautiful books that I've read this year so far. Sarina Bowen gets better every time I read her, and this time she didn't dissapointed me. Josh and Caleb love story is fascinating. The way the author developed the first stages of the relationship, the fears and the hidden feelings, was very touching.

Despite the humor of the situations, it was sad to read about a boy (Josh) who was in love with his friend and felt it was something forbiden, something bad... a sin. But then, this friend (Caleb) sacrifices his status and security in a spectacular love proof. Obviously they have a long road ahead, but those first chapters will stay with me forever.

2) This book is magical.

It's always nice to read some authors and see how they bring past characters into a new literary world. I love when that happens. It's magical. In this case, the mention of some characters in the True North series was pretty nostalgic.

If you've read that series, you should give a try to Goodbye Paradise and meet Josh and Caleb. And if you haven't I suggest you to go to Amazon and try those books too 'cause they are pretty awesome. You know, sexy farmers, former bad boys, runaways...,  just, try them.

3) God is love, this book is about love, so God loves this book (wasn't it clear enought? it would be a sin if you don't read it).

4) The 'emotional train' is ready to hit the road.

This book is like a rollercoaster. I was a wreck while I was reading. I cried, laughed, screamed, and then I repeated the cicle till the end. But let me make this clear, not all my tears were for sadness. There are certain moments so sweet and romantics that bringed tears to my eyes. Specially when...

No, no spoilers dude. Read the book.

5) It's Sarina Frigging Bowen, my friend.

No matter if this girl write M/F romance or M/M romance, the way she manages the feelings, the situations and make us love her characters is totally out of this world. I don't get it.

I kinda fan, you know. I first read her last year with True North series, and then I started to buy all her books.

It's like an addiction.

And like Amy Winehouse said once: "They tried to make me go to rehab, (but) I said no, no, no."

About the book

Most people called it a cult. But for twenty years, Josh and Caleb called it home.

In Paradise, there is no television. No fast food. Just long hours of farm work and prayer on a dusty Wyoming ranch, and nights in a crowded bunkhouse. The boys of the Compound are kept far from the sinners’ world.

But Joshua doesn’t need temptation to sin. His whole life, he’s wanted his best friend, Caleb. By day they work side by side. Only when Josh closes his eyes at night can they be together the way he craves.

It can never be. And his survival depends on keeping his terrible desires secret.

Caleb has always protected Josh against the worst of the bullying at the Compound. But he has secrets of his own, and a plan to get away — until it all backfires.

Josh finds himself homeless in a world that doesn’t want him. Can Caleb find him in time? And will they find a place of safety, where he can admit to Josh how he really feels?

Warning: Contains a hot male/male romance, copious instances of taking the Lord's name in vain, and love against the kitchen counter. This book was previously released under the title: In Front of God & Everyone.
