BLOG ON THE RUN | TOP 5 SUMMER READS

Prepare your kindle (or your bedside table) because I’ve prepared a list with book recommendations just for you. Summer is about heat, fun and romance, so take a look at these stories:

1 - I FLIPPING LOVE YOU by Helena Hunting: If you’re looking for a fun and sexy read, this one is for you. The story starts with a girl buying cinnamon toasts in a supermarket and a sexy man in a suit stalking her. Then there’s a misunderstanding, a negotiation and a summer to remember. This author is a MUST READ for me, and every time she publishes books I found myself one-clicking the hell out of them. This book is a standalone, so if you haven’t read her books yet this is a nice option to start.

2 - THE NAUGHTY PRINCESS CLUB by Tara Sivec: This isn’t a book but a trilogy, and it’s a retelling with a twist, featuring princesses from the classic fairy tales (Cinderella, Belle, Ariel…). The 2 first books are out, and the third is about to be released. These books are standalone, each one featuring a different princess. One of the things I loved the most about the books was the strong message about empowering women, friendship and the pursuit of happiness. They are funny, sexy and romantic, and I can’t wait for you to read them.

3 - MAN HANDS SERIES by Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby: Let me tell you something about these books, they aren’t just funny. They are ridiculously hilarious!

The first two books (Man Hands and Man Card) are already out and the third is coming in a few days!

4 - KARINA HALLE’S PRINCES: No, that’s not the name of the series, but it’s how I like to call them. THE SWEDISH PRINCE was my first time reading Karina’s books and I loved the simple prose, the sensation of being traveling with the characters and the way this author has to explore every feeling (the doubts, the fear, the love and the passion).

I also fell in love with Prince Magnus who’s the lead character in THE WILD HEIR. Both books are standalone, and the third installment in this series is coming soon and it’s titled A NORDIC KING.

5 - THE DIVE BAR SERIES by Kylie Scott: If you enjoyed the Stage Dive series, then get ready for these sexy bartenders ;) Each book features a different couple and even when the stories are related they can be read as standalone.

#REVIEW - Chaser (Dive Bar #3) by Kylie Scott

There's a new installment in the Dive Bar series by Kylie Scott, and let me tell you... IT'S GREAT! Ok, maybe I'm biased because I really enjoy Kylie's writing and I'm so deep into this series that's crazy, but for real, this book is awesome. Take a look at CHASER.

Synopsis:

Love isn’t always NEAT…

Bartender and all round bad boy, Eric Collins, has come to a crossroads. It’s time to take life seriously and maybe even attempt to settle down. If only the person he was hoping to settle down with didn’t turn out to be pregnant.

My review:

When I first met Eric, back in Dirty, I thought of him as a man-child. He was immature and selfish, also he couldn't keep it in his pants, so think of him as a manwhore with a Peter Pan complex. In the second book he face a traumatic event, and you could think that's his moment to grow up, and maybe he did it a little, but he had a long road ahead.

In Chaser we have the chance to experiment Eric's train of thought in first hand, and it was funny AF. Yes, he was a slut, and yes again, he was a immature prick, but he was also sweet and funny, and deserved to find love. What he wasn't expecting was that it could come with a pregnant woman in the package.

Eric thought he was happy as a single man, with a woman warming his bed every night without commitment. But when he met Jean, he started to second guess his life choices. Talking with her, once they get over their bumpy start, was easy, expending time with her and her child was something he enjoy, and slowly their friendship was turning in something more. The attraction was always there, but also the complications. And what started as something casual evolved into something deep, meaningful and beautiful. With Jean and her daughter Eric found something he didn't know he was missing, and that was her chance to adult, evolve and surprise Kylie's readers.

As in the previous books, the guys from Stage Dive make an appearance in the story, and I'm sure you'll love it.

I enjoyed this book a lot, not just because Eric evolved nicely and learned to care about someone more than himself, but because he choose to acknowledge his feelings and was willing to sacrifice everything was dear to him for the woman he loved. The rhythm of the book was steady, and Eric's constant inner dialogues were funny AF. The chemistry between Jean and Eric was insanely hot and every encounter was feeding a fire that was hard to contain. But But Eric taking care of a baby?

*OVARIES EXPLODING*

Trust me, there's nothing hotter than that. And I wasn't even watching, but my imagination is quite graphic.

I highly recommend not just this book but the whole series. If you haven't read Kylie Scott yet this is a nice way to start, and if you already know her writing then you know she never disappoints.

#REVIEW - Twist (Dive Bar #2) by Kylie Scott

Hi there everyone! After reading Dirty, I started to read this book.

It was impossible not to do so! While Vaughn and Lydia story was exhilarating and fun, I was curious about the rest of the characters in this world. My expectations were really really high, but the book didn't disappoint me.

My review:

This story totally took me by surprise. But I wasn't the only one surprised by the turns of the events 'cause the lead female was almost as surprised as me. Joe's introspective personality and his calm demeanor were cool for me in the first book, but beware of the shy guys! Because they have fire inside!

Everything started with a girl taking a risk. You may think a blind date would make you nervous, but think about going to a stranger city to meet a stranger man (who doesn't even know you're on your way to find him). Then close your eyes and imagine that the guy, the sexy guy you met online, isn't the person you thought.

I loved this book even more than the first one, and that's saying a lot because I really liked Vaughn and Lydia. But Joe and Alex story was beautiful. It has some sad moments, but the way it was written was so light, funny and sincere it was impossible not to feel related to the characters and fall in love with them.

Also this book let me see part of Pat and Nell's story as well, something I was pretty curious about. As always, Kylie made a fantastic book to get lost in.

#REVIEW - Dirty (Dive Bar #1) by Kylie Scott

Hi there everyone! A few weeks ago I read this book and I thought it might interest you. Kylie Scott is one of my favorite writers since I discovered her Stage Dive series. I loved those books and when I'm feeling low or bored I always read them to cheer me up, so I went to Amazon and grabbed a copy of Dirty (the first installment in a brand new series). And now I'll talk you about this book.

Synopsis:

Love—on the rocks….

The last thing Vaughan Hewson expects to find when he returns to his childhood home is a broken hearted bride in his shower, let alone the drama and chaos that come with her.

I seriously missed Kylie Scott's writing!

As I said before, I loved the Stage Dive books, and I had to read this series as well, even though it took me a while to start it.

The beginning of the book was a real shock. It was exciting and dramatic, but also hilarious AF. The instant chemistry between the lead characters was so intense, and the bond they developed in the first few chapters was unbelievably hot that I just knew their story would be amazing.

I enjoyed the humor, the passion, the inner conflict of the lead characters while trying to figure themselves out, the strong 'family vibe', the friendship and how Vaughn and Lydia's story was developed. The way the characters evolved though the story, and how the author reflected their POV about goals, life and future is so direct and real that you can relate with them.

I loved this book! Hard! And if the Stage Dive guys were great, the Dive Bar guys are AWESOME! Believe me!
