My review:

The wait is finally over!!! The previous book concluded with a wicked cliffhanger that left me biting my nails for a while, and this book throws us right after that last poker game. This series has been amazing. Sexy, suspenseful, romantic and heart stopping. A wild ride.

And this book wasn’t different.

Heart of the Devil was bittersweet for me. I was waiting for the conclusion of India and Jericho’s love story, but at the same time I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to them.

Meghan March is a wonderful storyteller. She has an ability to drag you to the darkest places just to share the most amazing stories. Her heroes are awesome (dude, I still planning a trip to NOLA with the hope to find someone like Rhett Hennessy there, lol)

Back to this novel…

I enjoyed every minute I spend reading it. Betrayal, revenge and surprising twists and turns… Heart of the Devil has it all! But above all, it also has the perfect ending for Forge and Indy unconventional story.

Now maybe you're wandering what's so cool about this book. Well... I'm about to tell you.

I loved how the author managed the tension until the very last moment, how she developed characters so broken yet so lovable, and also how she made them fit together. The rhythm of the narration was fluid, and the story was so well constructed that once I started, I couldn't stop reading.

The setting of the story was wonderful. Think of ranches, horses, beautiful landscapes as far as your eyes can see... and fiery alpha cowboys, a sassy vet med, danger, and enough sexual tension to lit a fire.

Yeah, baby... that's right.

My Favorite Cowboy is part of the HEART OF TEXAS series, but I didn't felt like I missed something in this story in particular, so you can read it as a standalone.

If you're looking for a thrilling plot, wonderful characters and the most steamy and sexy romance novel, you can't miss this one.

My Review

If you thought DEAL WITH THE DEVIL book on this series was good, just wait until you read LUCK OF THE DEVIL. This time around Meghan March plays with the tension and the suspense while the story between Jericho transforms. And, God, I love her for that. What started as a deal, as a mere transaction for the lead characters, suddenly started to feel like more. Like something nor Jericho or India were ready for. It started to feel real.

With secrets and danger surround them, Jericho and India are fighting against their enemies, known and unknown. Every time a layer of mystery falls, we find a new one, making the reading experience something utterly addictive. But our characters aren't just fighting bad guys... they are also fighting against their own feelings, because admitting they're in love, in certain way, feels like admitting defeat. And neither of them want to lose.

I loved the first installment, but I devoured this one in the blink of an eye. Page after page the tension grew up, so did my expectations. The development of the characters and the plot was masterful. And the ending... dear God! That was EPIC!! I need more! ASAP!

The third installment in the series has a really big shoes to fill now.

#NewRelease Don't Look Back by Dawn Ryder

Hi everyone! Let's talk a little bit about this sexy new release by Dawn Ryder, set in her Unbroken Heroes world: DON'T LOOK BACK.

This is my first time reading this series and author, but I found myself captivated by the plot and the charming characters. The story is intriguing, suspenseful and intense, but as I was reading I felt I was missing something.

The book was wrote as standalone, but you need some background to understand what's happening and why. The lead couple in this book, Thais and Dunn, is great but there are moments in the narration where they seem to be secondary characters because someone else steals the show.

The romance part of the story is intense and sexy, difficult because of the past of the characters but hot as an inferno. The suspense part was nicely written and conducted. I would loved to have seen more action in the final chapters, because of the tension that was being built, but things ended and I felt again I was missing something. I suppose that now I have to read the previous books and give this one a new visit soon.

I also enjoyed Journey/Crimsyn (Syn). She was in certain way innocent, but with a deep strength; she's being through hell but she keeps fighting. She grew up among monsters and was sold into a marriage she wasn't willing to go into, so when she had the chance she ran, and never stop running or hiding. She's Tenhya's cousin (Live Wire), and became friends with Amara (Collision Point), but she guarded fiercely every secret she had, even her attraction to Ivan since she was 16 years old. But the danger has a way to catch up with you in the most unexpected ways.

Lora Leigh’s DAGGER’S EDGE is an erotic and suspenseful love story, with an incredible narrative rhythm and enough action to keep you biting your nails until the last page. After reading this book I felt like rereading Elite Ops series along with Collision Point. Can't wait for the next book in this series to come out.

Chapter 1

“‘WHAT DID THE president know and when did he know it? That will be the question Congress faces as members return to Washington from the summer recess. Listening to her brother-in-law Spencer read from the morning edition of the Washington Star, Sam looked across the breakfast table at her husband, Nick, and saw a flash of dismay cross his handsome face. He dreaded the hearings, the attention, the renewed interest in the scandal that had rocked the nation’s capital earlier in the summer. Sam and her Homicide squad had uncovered the nefarious plot hatched by Nelson’s son Christopher in a failed effort to discredit Nick, all because Christopher had presidential aspirations of his own.

She took his hand and followed him through the sliding glass doors to the deck, where several members of his Secret Service detail were gathered at a table, drinking coffee.

John “Brant” Brantly Jr., the lead agent on Nick’s detail, stood when he saw them coming. “Good morning, Mr. Vice President, Mrs. Cappuano.”

“Morning, Brant,” Nick said. “We’d like to take a walk on the beach.”

“Of course, sir. Give us a few minutes to make that happen.”

Sam watched Nick’s jaw tighten with frustration. He hated having to ask permission to do something as simple as take a walk with his wife. She dropped his hand, slipped her arms around his waist and rested her head against his chest, hoping to give him something else to think about.

He put his arms around her and kissed the top of her head, his body relaxing in stages as the agents conferred and planned for a simple walk on the beach. Except nothing was ever simple. Not anymore. Well, that wasn’t entirely true. When it was just the two of them, alone together, it was still as simple as it had ever been, even as the world went mad around them. As they did when the madness swirled, they closed ranks, spent as much time alone as they possibly could and weathered the storm the best way they knew how, by keeping their heads down, their mouths shut and their arms wrapped around each other.
