ARC REVIEW - TEMPORARY by Sarina Bowen and Sarah Mayberry

14:33

The most beautiful man I've ever seen is the same one who can ruin everything.

The first time I lay eyes on Callan Walker, I know he’ll be trouble. With his smug grin, hot Aussie accent and thousand dollar shoes, he’s just the kind of rich guy who always gets what he wants.

And he wants two things: a night of sin, and my cooperation as he outmaneuvers his powerful mother to take control of his uncle’s estate.

I can’t afford either one. I’m the only thing standing between my little sister and the foster care system. He may have money and charm on his side, but I have something even more powerful -- pure desperation. This temp job at his mother’s company can become a full time job for me. It has to.

But when Callan’s eyes rake over my body, sometimes I forget my obligations. His piercing gaze finds the fun, optimistic girl I used to be and not the tired person I’ve become.

And it works--if only for a moment. Our night together was a mistake. I can't afford to get sucked into his high-powered family’s treachery. But the closer I get to Callan, the more layers I find beneath those expensive clothes. Though I can’t forget this is temporary. He’s temporary. I have too much to lose.

Too bad my foolish heart didn’t get the memo...

My Review

This book is, by far, one of the best collaborations I've read this year. I've been collecting Sarina Bowen books and having a great time with them, so when I hear she was co-writing with an author that I didn't know I say I had to read that book too.

Temporary is a contemporary romantic comedy narrated in first person, filled with family drama, a poddle channeling its inner princess, a hero with a sexy accent and a heroine trying hard to resist the heroe's charm.

With a fresh and funny narrative voice, the authors highlighted family relationships, friendship dynamics, duty, grief and the value of love in this book. The story has a rythm surprisingly fast and addictive, taking you in a roller coaster of emotions that will left you asking for more.

The main characters come from opposites sides of the world. Grace is an american girl with a very difficult life, making magic tricks to make her money last till the end of the month while taking care of her sister. Callan is a rich australian man with no problems except for finding a new place where to expend the money and the next woman to warm his bed.

Grace has been working for a temp agency hoping to land a permanent job. When a great opportunity comes up, she takes it without hesitation. She just needs a chance to prove herself and she's determinated to do it. What she wasn't expecting was to find a sexy australian man to distract her in her mission.

Their chemistry between them is intense. But both of them have opposite goals and one of them must to fail for the other to win. Callan's family interference and Grace's need for a permanent job may make this once in a lifetime love a temporary romance.

I really really loved this book. It was romantic, funny and sexy. The story will keep you captivated from the very first page.

I'm sure I was with my nose in the book the whole time and totally unable to stop.
